Nikki Berry

As well as the courses available through Canterbury University and Christchurch Polytechnic, Nikki leads the exuberant world music choir, A Capellago, the regular 'Open Song' World Music Choir and works with choirs from Wanaka to Auckland, providing repertoire, supporting emerging conductors and teaching singing technique. Nikki is a Trustee of The Muse Community Music Trust.

Nikki's unique approach to teaching draws on advanced training with Jo Estill at the Sydney Voice Centre and her many years as a Peer Counsellor.
Nikki's musical roots are as a singer/songwriter and bass player. She grew up in San Francisco and South Australia, and now lives in Christchurch, New Zealand. When she became a mother 18 years ago, she threw her energies into music education, designing instruments and working with children of all ages.
Nikki is passionate about world music, community building and wholistic education.
She believes that anyone can sing and has championed many a singer on their journey to 'reclaim their voice'.
