Kevin Heita Tena tatou Katoa e nga matua ki te tuiri a o te kura tua rua ko konei.Ko Kevin heitia au, I ngati maahanga te iwi, ki aramiro, Waikato.
E te hoa waihine a Oma.
Tena ra tatau katoaI have come from Rotorua Boys High School where I taught commerce subjects and will continue in the same field at Rotorua Girls High School .   My primary school education started at Waiotapu finishing secondary schooling at Rotorua Boy’s High School, from where I moved on to carve out a career initial with education in mind, but finishing up working in the medicine and pharmaceutical industry closely followed by a stint with government departments, Wellington prior to returning to Rotorua in 1990. Purchasing a cottage at Otautu Bay, Lake Rotoehu and lived in this beautiful bay for the next 16 years, before selling up at the height of the housing boom and moving to town not 5 minutes from work. Fishing and gardening are my passion at present and when fishing allows…… I’m gone fishing!. I returned to university in the mid 90’s to complete a Masters of Business Administration at Auckland University and after such a long absence from a learning environment it took a little time to settle into planning and accomplishing my workload required on the MBA program as well as holding down a full time job at Lakes district Health, but with perseverance I came out with that all important paper. I still maintain a keen interest in my hapu’s land affairs and frequently travel home as a trustee to plan the business of a 1200 ha, dry stock farm and forestry.

My wife Oma who many saw sing my waiata at the powhiri, is from Ngati Parewahawaha and works from home putting together the Waitangi claim for her hapu. She is also a keen genealogist and avid bookworm and can normally be found at home immersed in either activity.

Our two eldest children live in Australia and youngest is in Tauranga and we have two beautiful mokopuna, Te Anaiwa 14 years who is a year 10 student at Otumoetai College and Karangamirita 3 years of age, who is at pre school in Sydney.
I am looking forward to the 2010 school year as it brings new challenges and changes for me as a class room teacher and faculty head for Business Studies, in an environment that is positive and vibrant.Nga mihi atu kia kotou

“I was fortunate enough to move to Rotorua with my family in June last year from windy Wellington.  I’m loving being in the Bay of Plenty and closer to my home town of Tokoroa.

I have come to teaching from a background in banking, however, I have spent the last few years being a full-time mum to my three daughters.

Going by my first week at Rotorua Girls’, I am going to thoroughly enjoy my time here, and I look forward to working with my girls in the mathematics faculty.”

Nga mihi mahaki ki a koutou katoa. No konei ahau, no Te Arawa.

Tena koutou katoa

After 24 years in the education arena, it is indeed a privilege to find my place at RGHS as Deputy Principal of Karenga.  This is an amazing place – such vibrance, strength, passion and a total belief in the empowerment of women – kia taea e koe nāku te mana motuhake!

Ko Aramoana Mohi-Maxwell toku ingoa.  I am married with two sons.  I have spent most of my life in Rotorua and truly love this place, it is my home, my turangawaewae.  My parents were born and raised here and this is where I have a range of senior management  responsibilities and will also be teaching Te Reo Maori. I am pleased to follow in the footsteps of my mother who also taught reo here.

My door is open, nau mai, haere mai!  I look forward to sharing the journey with you all.

Ko Ngati Pikiao me Ngati Paoa oku iwi. Ko Te Takinga toku Marae. I am an experienced teacher of all primary ages who has decided to take the courageous leap into Secondary. I have already enjoyed meeting all of my enthusiastic students and staff.  I am welcomed by the manaakitanga at Rotorua Girls’ High School and the ‘can do’ attitude. Kei runga noa atu!

I am excited to be part of the Rotorua Girls’ High School Staff as I return to Rotorua after four years study at Otago University. I have recently completed a Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts and English, as well as my Graduate Teaching Diploma. Originally from Rotorua, I am the new Drama Teacher, and am looking forward to developing Drama's profile at RGHS and being involved in a range of exciting opportunities that the school has to offer. I enjoyed my time here as a student teacher in 2009 and am sure that 2010 will be as, if not more exciting.

Fleur Rolfe
Kia ora!  It’s great to be back teaching in my old school.  I have recently returned from the United Arab Emirates where I was teaching PE to Emirati students from primary right up to senior.  My passion is Group Fitness and I was lucky to become a Les Mills National Trainer in the Middle East.  I hope to continue my travels within a few years, especially in Thailand where I fell in love with Muay Thai – thai boxing.  My philosophy is “if you’re not in, you’re in the way”.

Nicola Whistler
Kia ora,
I will be teaching Photography and Art within the Art and Technology Department. I am excited to be the one getting photography up and running again at Girls’ High. I have recently moved over to the Rotorua District after living and studying in the Waikato for a number of years. I am enjoying getting to know the natural attractions this lakes district has to offer. I have taught at a number of schools including Hamilton's Fraser High School and more recently Whangarei Girls’ High. Originally I came from the Rodney District where I attended Mahurangi College from Year 7 to 13.

I look forward to getting to know the Rotorua Girls’ High School community and developing fun photography and art with the girls this year.
